As you can see the painting has almost been completed, no wonder when the painters work all day Sunday on a long weekend.
C [husband] doesn't really like the exterior colour 'dune', which is a worry because the garage and render colour is that colour too. Good thing that he does like the interior colour especially because he chose it.

I like the dune, only wish the windows were more a stone colour than beige. The colour of the windows is 'stone beige'. As for the interior, I like the colour but I would have rathered a cooler brown more so than the warm brown of 'turkish bread half strength'.

Overall, I think it's all coming together pretty well. The next big thing to see will be the splashback, hope it goes with all our other colour choices.

  1. Hi Relle,

Really hard to to tell with the colours isn't it? It looks so different in the different lights and then it will look different again with floor coverings and furniture. Not to mention that you choose off these tiny samples to begin with.

The half strength turkish bread looks amazing near your stairs and in the kitchen picture. I can understand C being worried about the outside colours, but you can't make a judgement until there is some colour around the facade, like garden and the driveway will make a difference too. I know we were a bit concerned early on but you really have to wait and see it as a big picture.

Can't wait for the splashback pics!!

    Cheers

  2. Hi Relle,

No need to panic - it all looks great!!!! I was hoping you were going to say that you chose Chalk Dust inside I like it so much! Great progress, you are very lucky.
I like the Dune on the weatherboards and think it will look very classy when it's all done.
What colour is your splashback going to be? Looking forward to seeing that.
Any thoughts on when they will schedule PCI?
    K.

  3. Place is really taking shape here. There are so many shots you've taken that remind us of our p[lace, save the different paint colour. The facade looks really good now the scaffolding is down. As for the Bifolds, they look great, hope you have not had to endure any damage to them.

  4. Relle, your colours are beautiful. I don't know what C's worried about - I absolutely love Dune!! I reckon it's one of the nicest Colourbond colours. And the Dark Oak looks fabulous with your bricks. I think it's all going to come together wonderfully. Can't wait to see the splashback.

  5. Thankyou, J, you're right about waiting to see how it all looks in the end. The colour does change in different lights and the more I look the more I'm not worried. Maybe it just takes a bit of getting used to.

Thanks also K, the splashback colour is called 'triamble'. It's hard to remember exactly what colour that is because it was this time last year that we picked it. From memory it is a shade of green. You can see why I can't wait until it's done.

Hi RandC, don't worry I think the same of your house when I look at your pictures, they are similar in many ways.
The bifold doors look ok, we really need to have a closer look at them in better light.

Mandy, I loved 'Colorbond Dune' from the beginning but i wonder now if we wouldn't have been better off waiting for our second choice bricks because they would have gone better with dune. The malt bricks have a yellowy fleck in them and the windows also have that yellowy colour. Maybe i should have gone with Paperbark, who knows. Too late now we'll just have to live with it.
